Parfait Bassalé is an acclaimed empathy specialist and activist who has facilitated cross-cultural workshops for state agencies, Multnomah county and educational organizations both nationally and internationally. He is currently the Director of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Center at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia Washington. By means of the story and song centered pedagogy; which leverages neuroscience, conflict resolution techniques, music and storytelling, Parfait artfully and convincingly takes participants on an introspective journey from which they return informed, empowered and inspired to make a difference.
For this workshop, participants will:

  1. Understand how bias is formed and how it works
  2. Understand and recognize the impact of bias
  3. Acquire and practice strategies to dismantle and reduce the impact of bias
